Boulevard Macau shopping expands

Additions to The Boulevard Macau shopping mall have partially opened, including a revamped T Galleria by DFS.
At Melco Crown Entertainment’s City of Dreams gaming resort, the mall extension houses the luxury retailer’s first-ever T Galleria by DFS Shoe Salon, covering two floors. Melco Crown also runs the Altira and Studio City casino resorts.
Other brands added to The Boulevard include Aquazzura, Bottega Veneta, Moncler, Rupert Sanderson, Tod’s and Valentino, with others tipped to be added soon.
A new zone is dedicated to men’s lifestyle, featuring multiple brands covering ready-to-wear clothing, accessories, shoes, watches and grooming products.
The mall extension follows a new package of social and economic policies for the city, released under the Macau government’s Five-Year Development Plan. By 2020, the government wants to see non-gaming income account on average for at least 9 per cent of all revenue generated by casinos, compared to an estimated 6.6 per cent in 2014.
Melco Crown last month reported a 34 per cent year-on-year decline in profit for the first quarter of this year.
