Moena Cafe Taiwan registered in Hawaii

Hawaii brunch restaurant Moena Cafe apparently has Asian expansion plans, having registered a new business in its home state under the name “Moena Cafe Taiwan”.

As well as Hawaii, the cafe has outlets in China and Japan. Its first cafe was set up in East Oahu four years ago, with another to open in October at DeBartolo Development’s Ka Makana Alii mixed-use regional shopping mall in West Oahu. The 5000 sqft (464.5 sqm) restaurant will be near Hawaii’s first Hampton Inn and a Victoria’s Secret store. As well as offering breakfast and lunch, it will also serve dinner, and includes a bar.

Nicole Chang owns Moena Cafe with her husband Eric, who has had more than 25 years of culinary experience, mainly at the Moana Surfrider hotel in Waikiki.

Moena Cafe has two locations in Japan and one in Shanghai.

In addition, the Changs are talking to about five different developers in Honolulu to open another cafe between Waikiki and Kakaako, reports Pacific Business News.
