Visa Singapore introduces airport program

A special global airport experience has been introduced for Visa Singapore cardholders.

In a first for Asia Pacific, the Visa Airport Companion program app offers cardholders access to exclusive privileges and discounts. It covers such amenities and services as airport lounges – Visa has signed a partnership with lounge provider DragonPass – restaurants, spas, retail, limousines and meet-and-greet services.

Included are in-app payments, card verification, smart recommendations and push notifications.

“Airports are fast becoming commerce hubs, with growing numbers of travellers, retail stores and spend,” says Visa Asia Pacific senior VP/head of products TS Anil. “About 7.5 billion people are expected to pass through an airport in 2019, with predicted sales of about $60 billion.”

As well as airport lounges, F&B establishments are most frequented across all traveller segments, followed by shopping, says Anil.

Through a mobile app, Visa cardholders can manage their membership, make payments, receive smart recommendations or use airport services. The app offers seamless verification on card and program eligibility.
For card issuers, package options can be customised. Issuers can scale and select service modules to meet varying propositions or tactical campaigns. The app is also customisable and can be co-branded or white-labelled.

As an introductory offering, Visa Infinite cardholders can have complimentary membership until May 31 next year with discounts of up to 20 per cent at 200 dining outlets in key Asia Pacific airports, and discounts on single lounge passes.

Founded in 2005, DragonPass Company has more than 10 million members worldwide and provides a suite of services including lounge access, airport restaurant programs, and limousine and concierge services. Its expanding global service network covers lounges and restaurants in more than 120 countries and at more than 450 airports and railway stations.
