Department store Takashimaya will open a Watch Maison shop in Osaka in November – its second following Tokyo a year ago.

Takashimaya Watch Maison Osaka will be on the fifth floor of Swissotel Nankai Osaka, next to Takashimaya’s Osaka store. Covering 1000 sqm, it will be larger than the 800-sqm Watch Maison shop in Tokyo.

While the lineup has not been finalised, the Osaka outlet is expected to offer more than 60 brands and about 3000 foreign and domestic models, including luxury brands such as Omega and Rolex, plus foreign makes not previously available in Japan.

Sales of up to 7 billion yen (US$69 million) are anticipated for the store’s first year.

Tokyo’s Watch Maison, which opened near Takashimaya’s Nihonbashi store in October, is on track to exceed its 12-month sales target of more than 5 billion yen.
