Chelsea signs massive deal with Nike UK

Britain’s Chelsea Football Club has formed a technical partnership with sports apparel and footwear company Nike UK.

Chelsea says the long-term agreement is the largest commercial deal in the club’s history, valued at £60 million a year. Nike will become its official kit supplier starting with the 2017/18 season. Nike will produce strips for the first team, Academy and Ladies teams, as well as a full range of clothing for Chelsea supporters.

“This is an incredibly exciting and important deal for the club,” says Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia. “We believe Nike will be able to support our growth into new markets as well as helping us maintain our place among the world’s elite football clubs.’

“The partnership with Chelsea reinforces our leadership position in football,” says Nike Brand president Trevor Edwards. “Chelsea is a world-class club with a rich tradition and passionate fans across the globe.”
