Fitch buys StartJG Hong Kong

Design house Fitch has taken a majority stake in StartJG Hong Kong and will rebrand it as Fitch Design Ltd.
Formerly part of the Start Group, an independent network, StartJG Hong Kong was founded in 2009 by Jonathan Cummings. The Hong Kong brand and customer experience design consultancy has grown to almost 40 people offering branding, environment and interaction design. The studio has focused on building a strong regional client base, including Swire Properties and Genting HK.
The acquisition makes Hong Kong the third Fitch studio in Greater China alongside operations in Shanghai and Beijing. Cummings and MD Cally Williams will join Fitch’s senior leadership team for Southeast and North Asia, led by regional CEO Andrew Crombie.
Simon Bolton, Global CEO of Fitch, said the team in Hong Kong have a fantastic track record for creating remarkable brand, retail and consumer experiences.

Cummings said the consultancy had done incredibly well as a small independent to grow to the size it is and to become a recognised leader in Hong Kong.
