Luxury travel retailer DFS Group will launch its eighth annual Masters of Time exhibition with a gala event at T Galleria by DFS, Macau, on December 3 in partnership with Shoppes at Four Seasons.
The event this year has relationships as its theme, inspired by the close bonds that inspire watch collectors. The relationships between luxury retailers and their clientele, between a customer and their timepiece, are explored.
More than 400 pieces from 27 brands will be on display and available for purchase until February 28. DFS is expanding the experience this year to members of the public.
Two allied events are already open: Tag Heuer’s virtual reality experience which runs until next month, and Bulgari’s Finissimo Minute Repeater exhibition with experiential and educational activities, which runs until February.
Other activities include the Franck Muller flagship boutique opening at the end of this month; Girard Perregaux’s 225th-anniversary exhibition next month; and Cartier celebrating the concept of time with a showcase of watchmaking and jewellery creations.
“For more than 500 years, the watchmaking industry and its craftsmen have worked to encapsulate time in the form of a watch,” says DFS Group chairman/CEO Philippe Schaus. “This year’s Masters of Time not only celebrates the relationship between man and machine, but also the pivotal moments and relationships in life we all seek to commemorate.”
Exclusive pieces in this year’s Masters of Time collection come from such brands as Angelus, Arnold & Son, Blancpain, Breguet, Chopard, Franck Muller, Glashutte Original, Hautlence; Hermes, H Moser & Cie, Hublot, IWC Schaffhausen, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Jaquet Droz, Manufacture Royale, Officine Panerai, Omega, Piaget, Roger Dubuis, Speake Marin, Tiffany & Co, Vacheron Constantin, Van Cleef & Arpels and Zenith.
With more than 850 retailers, Sands Shoppes Cotai Strip Macao is the largest duty-free luxury-shopping destination in Macau. It comprises the interconnected Shoppes at Four Seasons, Shoppes at Venetian and Shoppes at Cotai Central, with the 300,000 sqft (27,870 sqm) Shoppes at Parisian just added.
