All but two Kenneth Cole US stores are to be shuttered, with the famous fashion brand redirecting its focus to online and wholesaling.

“As we continue on our path of strengthening our global lifestyle brand, we look to expand our online and full-price retail footprint across the globe,” Kenneth Cole Productions CEO Marc Schneider said in a statement. “We need to focus our energies and resources to better serve the consumer on their terms.”

New York-headquartered Kenneth Cole Productions was founded more than 30 years ago, focusing on fashion, shoes and accessories. It has 63 cut-price outlet stores in the US, all of which will close down during the next six months.

The remaining full-priced stores are located in New York’s Bowery neighborhood and in Arlington, Virginia.

Schneider says the international business will remain a priority and it will continue to supply merchandise for other retailers to sell.
