Bookshop chain Bookazine has opened a branch in Discovery Bay Main Plaza.
After running a store in DB North Plaza for more than two years, Bookazine has taken on a larger space in the main plaza. And for the first time, Bookazine has a shop-in-shop for party supplies from its sister company Partytime.
A highlight is a mural by the staircase leading to the 3000 sqft (278 sqm) first-floor shop. By AfterWorkShop/HK Walls, it is an interpretation of the inspiring world of books, and includes references to Partytime.
Already this year Bookazine relocated its Prince’s Building and IFC shops to larger locations, and now has eight outlets.
“The synergy between the Bookazine and Partytime brands has been great in Prince’s Building and Repulse Bay, where the shops are within the same mall,” says Bookazine director Shonee Mirchandani.
To celebrate the new shop, Bookazine hosted Hong Kong’s first ever “sleepover” in a bookstore. This featured two hours of games and storytelling, with wine, milk and cupcakes being served.
Meanwhile, following financial troubles, the Page One bookstore has closed its final outlet in Hong Kong.
