Victoria’s Secret Southeast Asia flagship opens

Just opened at Singapore’s Mandarin Gallery, US lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret’s first Southeast Asia flagship store sells the brand’s full range.

Like the brand’s stores in its home market, the flagship offers the the Victoria Sport and Victoria’s Secret Pink ranges. While Victoria’s Secret has more than 1600 stores worldwide, many stock only a limited range of items. Singapore is the first Asian territory to have the full assortment.

There will be 12 bra specialists at the flagship to help and advise the customers. Victoria’s Secret assistant VP for Singapore stores Ema Negara says specialists are important as about 90 per cent of women take wrong innerwear sizes to the fitting room and walk out disappointed.

“Our motto is to make women feel sexy, sophisticated and forever young,” she says.

There are 24 fitting rooms at the Mandarin Gallery store, in Orchard Road. Each has a call button so shoppers can summon specialist help. The 12,000 sqft (1115 sqm) duplex store opens 12 hours every day from 10am.

About 100 shoppers queued to enter the new store when it opened. The store features pink glass, music, video screens, oversized chandeliers and table displays of lingerie-clad mannequins.

The brand is known for its annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, which started in 1995 and features supermodels such as Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio as well as performers including pop stars Rihanna and Taylor Swift.

Retail group Valiram distributes the brand in Singapore.
