Chopard gambles on extra Wynn Macau boutique

Believing it can gain long-term profit despite the economic slowdown, Swiss luxury watchmaker Chopard plans to open a second Wynn Macau boutique.
This follows its latest outlet in Wynn Palace on the Cotai Strip, where it competes with at least three other luxury watch brands. The brand also has boutiques in The Venetian Macao, the Four Seasons and City of Dreams.
Chopard co-president/artistic director Caroline Scheufele says Macau offers further potential for the brand to expand with more casino projects planned.
She says “huge developments” include new casinos such as MGM Cotai, which will have 1500 rooms.
“People who live here still believe in Macau, and the Chinese will always gamble. It is in their blood.”
