Baozun app Shopdog supports O2O efficiency

Chinese eCommerce service partner Baozun has released an app called Shopdog aimed at increasing O2O shipping efficiency.

It claims its Shopdog app shortens order fulfillment time and cost by integrating both online and offline inventory, allowing brands to sell store inventory online. The first large-scale implementation of its integrated O2O inventory management system was during the December 12 (“Double 12”) promotional sales day.

Designed to be used on tablets, Shopdog aims to enhance the customer experience and help brand partners integrate online sales channels with offline store inventories. This means offline stores can sell inventory online with an integrated warehouse management system.

Shopdog also uses offline stores for returns, exchanges, payment and pickup of online orders. Following trial runs involving stores in Hong Kong, Shopdog is being rolled out across mainland tier-one and -two cities for two apparel brand partners.

Shopdog is described by Baozun chief technology officer Tony Wu as a crucial component in the integration of omni-channel brand eCommerce in China.

“The scalability of our system easily allows us to customise O2O solutions for various brands. We can directly support a growing array of transactions as we add new brand partners, integrate new channels and adjust to fluctuating consumer demand.”

Encouraged by feedback from consumers and brand partners, the company aims to work with brands in the apparel, home and furnishing segments, says Wu.
