Sham Shui Po shop shuttered

A fresh provisions shop in Sham Shui Po has been ordered to suspend business for 14 days after repeatedly breaching the Hong Kong Food Business Regulation (FBR) by illegally extending its business area.
With previous convictions, the ground-floor shop in Ki Lung Street cannot reopen until February 14.
Two convictions for illegal extension were recorded against the shop last April and October, leading to a HK$1800 (US$232) fine and 30 demerit points against the licensee. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension, says a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) spokesman.
The licensee of the fresh provision shop had a record of two convictions for making unauthorised alterations and extending the business area illegally in February 2015 and February last year. A total fine of $1700 was levied and 15 demerit points registered. The breaches led to a business suspension for seven days at the end of April.
