Furniture show SingaPlural will host a pop-up store from tomorrow, March 7, for the duration of Singapore Design Week.
The store will feature products ranging from chairs and porcelain to accessories created by local artists and even tea. Some designers have collaborated with international brands.
Singapore Design Week opened today, celebrating all things design in the city state.
Mark Yong, chairman of SingaPlural and president of the Singapore Furniture Industries Council, says the pop-up will “add punch to the soft power of a city”.
Among the collaborations is one between Mystic Eyewear and sneaker customiser Mark Ong, founder of SBGT. Mystic will sell sunglasses, glasses cases and other accessories.
Co-founder Jason Tong says the pop-up will be good for his company’s branding.
“Most of the time, we put items in-store and we are not there to share the details that go into works. Buying a new brand is all about education.”
SingaPlural is an anchor event of Singapore Design Week. This is its fifth year. The show runs from March 7 to 12, from 11am to 10pm at the F1 Pit Building Level 3 on 1 Republic Boulevard.
