Chinashop 2017 slated for November

Dates have been announced for this year’s Chinashop, the key annual event of the Chinese retail sector.

At the Chongqing Expo Center, Chinashop 2017 will run concurrently from November 2 to 4 with the China National Retail Congress, which covers technology trends and the most pressing needs Chinese retailers face.

China’s top 100 retailers booked US$305 billion in sales last year, according to a China Chain Store & Franchise Association (CCFA) report. This was 4.3 per cent year-on-year growth covering 111,000 outlets.

In another study, CCFA and Deloitte & Touche found that 60 per cent of shopkeepers in China are optimistic or cautiously optimistic about their business for this year, and 39 per cent have set growth goals exceeding 10 per cent.

Chinashop 2017 is expected to cover 90,000 sqm, with thousands of providers to the retail trade presenting tens of thousands of products and services ranging from POS equipment and cold-chain management to commercial design and technology.

It is also expected the exhibition will attract more than 50,000 international visitors, including buyers from more than 1600 retail companies.
