Maxi-Cash launches LuxeStyle retail line

Singapore pawnbroker Maxi-Cash has launched LuxeStyle, a pre-loved luxury retail line offering designer timepieces, leather bags and fine jewellery.

Showcasing 1000 watches, 1000 items of fine jewellery and 500 designer bags across 24 international brands, LuxeStyle is being introduced into 19 Maxi-Cash stores. Each item is priced at least 30 per cent less than its original retail price.

To launch LuxeStyle, Maxi-Cash held a showcase in the form of a walk-in wardrobe stocked with luxury watches, bags and jewellery. Models in bathrobes sat in front of dressers doing their hair and makeup, while 100 guests were served canapes and champagne.

A highlight was a workshop by celebrity stylist Daniel Boey, while the evening’s host was TV personality Diana Ser.

Maxi-Cash CEO Ng Leok Cheng welcomed guests, while assistant brand director Magdalene Eng spoke about buying pre-loved goods.

“As Singapore’s first public-listed pawnbroking company, we pride ourselves to lead and modernise the pawn industry,” Cheng told guests.

“Against the rising cost of living, LuxeStyle makes luxury goods more accessible,” he said.

Maxi-Cash, which listed in June 2012, provides financial services in the form of pawnbroking and the retail and trading of pre-loved jewellery and timepieces. It also has LeGold, which offers new 916/999 gold.

Maxi-Cash opened its first pawnshop in Ang Mo Kio Central in February 2009, and six months later was the first-ever pawnshop to open in Orchard Road. Today it has pawnshops and retail outlets in 41 locations.

In 2014, the group’s retail and trading business, Gold n Gems, attained CaseTrust accreditation from the Consumer Association of Singapore (Case).
