E-commerce company Rakuten has established a permanent dining outlet at Kobo Park Miyagi featuring gourmet food from Rakuten Ichiba.
Launched by Rakuten and Rakuten Baseball, baseball-themed Rakuten Umaimono Park offers nine gourmet items from around Japan.
Its feature dish is Black Wagyu 100 per cent Demi-cheese Hamburg Don, developed specifically for the park by Saison Boucher, a store specialising in Wagyu beef. Other menu items include Yamitsuki Juicy Fried Chicken from Suigo no Toriyasan and Shopping Panda Cookies, exclusive to the park following a collaboration between confectionary store Aijyo-Sengen and Rakuten character Shopping Panda.
Other delicacies on the menu include Pururun Offal Salt Yakisoba from Shokufukutei, Devil Chicken Curry from LaLa Curry, Family Popcorn from Fudge Concierge and seasonal gelato from Dolce Gelato Honten.
Discount coupons for Rakuten Ichiba will be handed out to customers at the park, which is home to the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles baseball team. Under its “ballpark concept”, Rakuten Baseball aims to create an entertainment stadium for families, even on days when baseball games are not being played. Last year it added such attractions as a Ferris wheel and merry-go-round, and opened a domed events venue, Eagles Dome.
