Parc Central wins gold for Benoy design

UK architectural firm Benoy has won the top accolade at the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) China Awards this year for its design of Parc Central in Guangzhou.

The gold award for Design and Development (new) was presented at a gala event in Shanghai.

Parc Central was one of Benoy’s biggest openings last year.

In the Pearl River Delta city’s new CBD, the centre is a green “stadium for retail”, blending a low-rise shopping scheme within multi-level parkland.

Benoy’s team delivered the masterplan, architecture and interior design for the development, combining retail, transit-oriented and public-realm design strategies. The development has been recognised by several industry programs including the China Property Awards, A&D Trophy Awards and MIPIM Asia Awards.

Launched in 2015 under a global parent, the ICSC China Awards recognise excellence, innovation and creativity within China’s retail real-estate industry. Winners go automatically into the ICSC Viva Awards, to be presented in conjunction with the global retail real-estate convention in Las Vegas.
