New Tangs CEO named

Tangs Singapore department store parent CK Tang has named a new CEO.

He is Sean Tang Wen-Wei, 32, the oldest son of Tang Wee Kit, chairman of CK Tang’s executive committee. He already sits on the company’s board, and that of Tang Holdings, which owns 98.3 per cent of CK Tang.

The younger Tang replaces Kevin Dyson, who left the company last August after two years with the business, originally as COO and for the last five months as CEO.  An American, Dyson had previously worked for 24 years at Barneys New York and was appointed by former chairman Tang Wee Sung who retired simultaneously with Dyson’s departure.

Tangs explains the change of leadership as part of a “family succession plan” according to news reports.
