Jollibee Hong Kong opens fourth outlet

Jollibee Hong Kong’s launch of its fourth fast-food outlet this week attracted a crowd of locals and expat Filipinos.

At China Harbor Building on Hong Kong Island, the 4930 sqft (458 sqm) branch attracted more than 50 Filipina for its grand opening.

Jollibee founder, Filipino-Chinese entrepreneur Tony Tan Caktiong, has a net worth of US$3.4 billion and is the sixth-richest person in the Philippines, according to Forbes.

Tan says business has been profitable in Hong Kong, so he is looking for more locations. With city shop rents plummeting, Jollibee has been expanding its market presence since July. Its other branches are in Central (two) and Mong Kok.

Jollibee has more than 1100 restaurants internationally, including in Singapore and Vietnam.
