Changi Airport has boosted its flagship “Be a Changi Millionaire” retail promotion this year with a car prize – a Volvo S90 T5 luxury sedan – as well as the S$1 million (US$717,000) cash prize. Airport shoppers can qualify for the lucky draw by spending S$50 in a single transaction between May 4 and October 31.
Each month a finalist is chosen to go into the grand draw, with a seventh being picked from qualifying shoppers on iShopChangi, the airport’s online shopping portal, plus an eighth finalist from Platinum members of the Changi Rewards loyalty program.
To top it off, shoppers who spend more than S$500 in a single day will have a chance to win the new car. Six monthly finalists will go into the draw for the Volvo.
During the promotion, a Volvo S90 sedan will be on display in each of Changi’s four terminals. Shoppers can also take part in interactive games for instant prizes, such as shopping vouchers.
With the new prize category, 14 finalists will be in line for the two big prizes with the draw in front of an audience early next year. All finalists will be awarded a three-night hotel stay in Singapore. Apart from the two grand prize winners, the other finalists will each win cash.
The campaign attracted nearly 1.2 million entries from participants globally last year. Since its launch, seven Changi Airport shoppers have won the million-dollar prize – two Singaporeans, two Indonesians, and visitors from Australia, Ireland and Japan.
