Brooks Running Company stepping into China

Performance apparel company Brooks Running Company plans to enter China in July, one of the largest running markets in the world.

“Following success in Europe, Japan and Canada, entry into China represents the next step in our global expansion strategy,” says CEO Jim Weber.

As well as outlets in key sporting goods retail stores in major markets such as Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai, Brooks will also launch on Amazon and T-Mall on July 1.
Chinese buyers will be offered footwear and accessories, including Brooks Run Signature, an innovative fitting method that uses technology to recommend the right shoe.

Brooks plans to continue expanding in China next year, and add apparel and sports bras to its range.
Brooks has outlets in more than 50 countries. Founded in 1914, it is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway and has its headquarters in Seattle.
