Following its first global flagship store on Causeway Bay’s Paterson Street, which opened in 2014, Milan-based label Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh Hong Kong has launched its second outlet in Queen’s Road Central.
Virgil Abloh, the founder of the elevated street-fashion label, designed the 746 sqft (69 sqm) space. Contrasting architectural elements and colours punctuate the two-floor space. Bare concrete defines the ground level from floor to ceiling, while the upper floor has mint-green velvet curtain and carpeting. The ceiling has interlacing black metal rods, its checkerboard pattern creating a contrast with sleek walls and flooring. The space is punctuated by golden display units and fixtures. The latest Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh spring/summer collection is showcased by top-and-bottom LED lighting.
To mark the opening of the store, a cocktail reception was attended by Abloh, fashion icons and influential bloggers. Abloh shared styling tips and signed. An afterparty at Tazmania Ballroom included guests such as director/actor Derek Tsang, stylist Faye Tsui, actress Jeannie Chan, stylist Mayao, actress Venus Wong and lyricist/fashionista Wyman Wong, while Abloh acted as special DJ.
To celebrate the grand opening, a Central Shop Capsule Collection was launched with offerings for both men and women including T-shirts, sweaters, hoodies, shirts, jeans, backpacks and socks for men, with sweatshirt dresses and denim shorts as key items for women.
Off-White also rolled out an exclusive limited-edition Binder Clip black leather shoulder bag.
Established in 2013, Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh offers seasonal collections of men’s and women’s clothing, objects and furniture, as well as publications.
