3D shoes for New Balance Roppongi store

Footwear label New Balance Japan today opens its first concept store, New Balance Roppongi 19:06, in Tokyo.

Its name refers to the year the brand was founded, 111 years ago.

Sharp concrete contrasts with warm wood  to create a “stadium” atmosphere inside the store evocative of a sporting lifestyle, says the brand. The store will offer apparel and footwear including limited-edition and collaborative items.

To mark the opening, the footwear brand will feature special shoes featuring Japanese-made knit uppers with a part of the sole 3D-printed. A limited edition of 44 pairs of these Zante Generate running shoes were sold ahead of the Boston marathon last year.

Also on offer, using the same knit, are menswear and womenswear lines.
