Water damage from the Black Rainstorm in Hong Kong caused Coffee Academics cafe in Tsim Sha Tsui to go up in flames.

The blaze started about 9.45am yesterday when a circuit breaker tripped at the cafe, outside The One shopping centre on Nathan Road.

Cafe staff had noticed a short circuit in the power supply after the rainstorm and called an electrician, reports Coconuts. However, an LED light box caught fire shortly after the inspection.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames within an hour, and no injuries were reported.

Part of Carnarvon Road was closed off during the fire.
