Coach Asia Pacific opens three travel retail stores

Coach Asia Pacific has strengthened its travel retail presence with three store openings, two in airports and one on a cruise ship.

In Jakarta and Singapore, the stores are part of Coach’s Modern Luxury concept, which also features in the outlet aboard the Majestic Princess cruise ship, run by Princess Cruises and mainly serving Chinese passengers.

In Terminal 3 of Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta Airport, the 70 sqm Coach store has a dual-gender offering with a focus around bags, wallets and small leathergoods (SLGs).

“This is a real milestone for Coach, opening its first domestic airport store in the SouthEast Asia region,” says Coach International VP Paulo Colino. “We aim to capitalise on the rising tourism in Indonesia, while building brand equity and awareness.”

The store in Terminal 2 of Singapore’s Changi Airport is Coach’s first partnership with LS Travel Asia outside of China. Colino describes Singapore as a key location for the brand.

Coach’s Modern Luxury retail concept aims to offer a warm and inviting environment, and was designed by creative director Stuart Vevers.

Meanwhile, New York-headquartered Coach is also renovating its stores, with half of its travel retail outlets in Asia Pacific already fitted with the new concept.
