Brought in by the Watami group, Niku Kappo has opened at Ion Orchard as the first restaurant of its type in Singapore.

Kappo (“cut and cook”) is a traditional Japanese cuisine, and in the restaurant the chef cooks right in front of the guests.

At Niku Kappo, the focus is on the “niku”, or meat selection. Dishes include meat sushi, meat hot pot (shaped like Mt Fuji), Dancing Caesar Salad (the salad is prepared by a dancing service crew) and Shirasu & Ikura Pizza, An Italian/Japanese fusion dish comprising a thin-crust pizza with a whitebait and salmon roe topping.
