Eslite Spectrum upgrading Hong Kong stores

As well as an Asian expansion program, Taiwan bookstore and lifestyle retailer Eslite Spectrum is upgrading its outlets in Hong Kong.

More stores are also planned for Hong Kong, says president Mercy Wu.

Eslite Spectrum’s Tsim Sha Tsui store had a refit only three months after opening, while the Causeway Bay outlet is being refitted this month. The City Plaza location – plagued by “temporary” staff shortages – is also scheduled for a major overhaul in the fourth quarter of this year.

Following a shareholder meeting, Wu announced that as well as store openings in Taiwan, Hong Kong and China, outlets are being considered for Japan and Malaysia.

Eslite last year added outlets in Linkou, Taichung’s Far Eastern Department Store and the Sogo Department Store in Kaohsiung to its Taiwan portfolio.
