Lawry’s Prime Rib plans Vietnam foray

Family-owned-and-operated Lawry’s Prime Rib restaurant chain is seeking a master franchisee to enter Vietnam.

“In Asia, Lawry’s currently has one outlet in each of Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul, Taipei, Tokyo and Osaka. The average Lawry’s brings about US$8 million revenue, mostly from dinners,” said Sean T. Ngo, CEO of VF Franchise Consulting. VF represented Lawry’s at last week’s Vietnam International Franchise Show in Ho Chi Minh City.

Candidates should be companies with a track record of successful multi-brand licensing and experience in the F&B sector. Lawry’s is also interested in talking with developers and operators of shopping malls and retail centres in Vietnam.

The minimum initial capital investment is $4.5 million for two units.

“The special thing about Lawry’s is, unlike other rib restaurants, they roast the ribs and push the container to your table, and serve whichever size or however cooked the rib you want. And that is a very entertaining theme,” Ngo added.
