Online cab aggregator Uber has launched UberEats India.

Registered users can order food from its partner restaurants for home delivery, initially in five Mumbai suburban areas.

There are plans to expand to other cities by the end of this year.

Headed by Bhavik Rathod, UberEats India has partnered with such restaurants as Chaayos, Coffee by Di Bella, FreshMenu, Le15, The Bohri Kitchen and The Good Wife in Mumbai.

There is already competition in the segment including Swiggy, backed by Harmony Partners and Singapore-based RB investments, and Zomato.

Launched in 2014, UberEats is already available in cities including Auckland, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taipei and Tokyo.
