Honestbee Hong Kong partners with supermarkets

Online grocery/concierge service Honestbee has partnered with eight supermarkets in Hong Kong.

Honestbee uses concierge shoppers to handpick and deliver fresh groceries from local stores, providing an opportunity for supermarkets to gain new customers and incremental revenue.

Founded in Singapore in 2015, Honestbee has a presence in eight major cities in Asia – Bangkok, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Singapore, Taipei and Tokyo.

In Hong Kong it has signed agreements with Fusion, Great Food Hall, International (launching next month), ParkNshop, Taste, Tesco, U Select and Yata Supermarket, allowing it to offer more than 30,000 items.

“If someone wants to launch an online platform, they can use Honestbee to build their e-commerce store as well as handle the payments and provide professional customer service and logistics,” says Honestbee Hong Kong country manager Derek Winder. “Plus our system captures valuable information like the most popular products, customer frequency, ordering information and out-of-stock circumstances.”

He says the company adds value to traditional supermarkets and boutique stores, and 60 per cent of customers use the service at least once a week, spending an average of HK$750 (US$96) a visit.

As well as supermarkets, in Hong Kong Honestbee partners with such boutique stores as Baby Central, Feather & Bone, Pet Line and The Butchers Club.
