Amazon Prime Day first for China, India and Japan

Amazon Prime Day will be held for the third year on July 11, including for the first time China, India and Japan buyers.

With hundreds of thousands of deals available exclusively for international members, they will be offered more time to shop this year, with new specials as often as every five minutes. Prime Day has also expanded to 13 countries, and members in China will be able to shop both local deals as well as select items from other countries via the Amazon Global Store.

Millions of items will be in stock, including specials from thousands of small businesses and entrepreneurs.

“This year’s Prime Day is too big for 24 hours, so we’re giving members 30 hours to shop,” says Amazon Prime VP Greg Greeley.

And every day leading up to Prime Day exclusive promotions and deals will be offered to members, including Amazon Music Unlimited, Audible, Everyday Essentials, Kindle Unlimited and Prime Video.

Prime Day last year had sales that exceeded the initial event by more than 60 per cent.

Prime was built on the foundation of unlimited fast shopping with free shipping.
