Pin-to Livros 2.0 re-opens in new site

Independent book and record store Pin-to Livros, with “2.0” unofficially tagged to its name, has re-opened in a new location in Macau following its forcible closure 11 months ago.

On Rua de Coelho do Amaral, near Kiang Wu hospital, it is in an area with lower foot traffic.

Store owner Anson Ng previously had a dual set-up, with sister shop Pin-to Musica one floor away in the same building near Senado Square.

Ng was forced to close the shops last July after a new company acquired the lease to the building and notified him that his rental contract would be terminated. His two former premises appear to be vacant and derelict.

His new ground-floor shop, just 4m wide, offers both books and records. Within two hours of it opening, Ng estimates that about 100 people visited Pin-to Livros 2.0.

Despite the limited space, he says he wants to continue hosting concerts, even though the audience may be limited to only 30 people.
