Samson Holding expecting ‘significant’ profit rise

In a positive profit alert, furniture company Samson Holding says its expects a “significant” increase in its half-year net earnings.

It says its unaudited figures indicate the net profit will be about 2.5 times of that for the corresponding period last year.

Chairman Shan Huei Kuo says the increase is primarily attributable to increased gross and operating margins thanks to a favourable change in product mix plus effective control of costs and marketing expenses; increased sales and margins of the group’s mid-to-high-end furniture brand through product launches, and expanded market share in non-traditional channels, including e-commerce; and a one-time non-cash profit from the acquisition of Kohler Interiors Group.

Samson expects to publish its interim results for the six months by the end of this month.
