Retail refreshed at Singapore Cruise Centre

International luxury travel retailer DFS Group has opened its updated duty-free stores at Singapore Cruise Centre (SCC).

Awarded SCC’s first-ever master duty-free and general merchandise concession in December, DFS has created a retail environment inspired by the local landscape and has consolidated several of its duty-free concessions across six categories. This places such segments as wines, spirits and tobacco, and beauty and confectionary into a single contract.

At SCC’s HarbourFront and Tanah Merah terminals, the shops span seven outlets and are accessible to travellers arriving or leaving Singapore by ferry or cruise ship. The main retail space at both the arrival and departure areas has been expanded to 6000 sqft (560 sqm) and caters to more than 6.3 million ferry passengers and 560,000 cruise passengers annually.

DFS, Singapore Cruise Centre is home to more than 150 brands covering such products as alcohol, tobacco, cosmetics, fashion and travel accessories. The range also includes exclusive offerings in wines and spirits.

“Passengers at our terminals can now experience an array of retail offerings with more store space, new retail concepts and new brands,” says SCC CEO Christina Siaw.

The DFS HarbourFront departure store is also home to a Whiskey Bar and Cocktail Bar where guests can sample whiskies or have specialty cocktails. Created in collaboration with The Whiskey House at the DFS Terminal 2 duplex at Singapore Changi Airport, the Whiskey Bar is an extension of DFS’ interactive approach to spirits, educating and engaging customers through guided tastings.
