B2B e-commerce platform JMU, which provides integrated services for suppliers and customers in China’s foodservice industry, has announced it will be involved in a JV to develop a co-operative area in Century Link in Shanghai.
JMU’s affiliate in China, Shanghai Zhongmin Supply Chain Management, has reached a strategic partnership agreement with Hutchison Whampoa Properties (Shanghai) Lujiazui and Tansh Global Food Group (formerly Xiao Nan Guo Restaurants Holdings) on the development of Project Lane1192, a space of nearly 3000 sqm for commercial use in Pudong’s Century Link.
Under the partnership, JMU and Tansh will establish a JV to oversee the store-leasing process in the co-operative area and provide guidance and advice to tenant shops and restaurants. Tansh will use its experience and advantages to introduce restaurant and food-material brands to the area while JMU will provide the integrated services of a back-end restaurant ERP system and supply-chain logistics.
JMU co-chairperson/CEO Xiaoxia Zhu says the new foodservice model will showcase the company’s capabilities in commercial-property management, restaurant and food-material branding and supply-chain standardisation.
“We will be able to satisfy different consumer demands in one modern venue, a one-stop shop in which consumers can dine or take out, or buy semi-finished food. We believe this will be one of the future directions of the restaurant and catering industry.”
She says the company is optimistic it will be able to expand the model to the wider China market.
Developed by Hutchison Whampoa Properties (Shanghai) Lujiazui, Century Link is home to the seven-floor Century Link Mall, which has 140,000 sqm of commercial space and a 3000 sqm atrium.
Tansh, a Chinese company listed in Hong Kong, has been a global catering brand-investment development group for more than 30 years. Its formats include Chinese and Western food and casual dining, with such brands as Hui Gong Guan, Mai Chi Ling, Nan Xiao Guan, Oreno, Pokka Cafe, Shanghai Xiao Nan Guan, The Boat House and Wolfgang Puck.
