Pop-ups precede John Masters Organics’ Times Square store

American beauty brand John Masters Organics is establishing a retail foothold in Hong Kong with the launch of a store in Times Square this month following two pop-ups, in Harbour City and at IFC Mall.

Its 370 sqft (34 sqm) Times Square store has a design that draws on the brand’s New York heritage with brick walls, reclaimed wood and blackened steel. It offers the full range of John Masters Organics products for the face, body and hair. There is a styling area where customers can experience the products, and beauty consultants offer recommendations.

A social-media campaign is being run by the IFC pop-up offering an exclusive gift set of the company’s products to 100 winners.

John Masters founded the company in 1991 in his salon in Soho, New York City, where he offered organic treatments. He developed his own line of nourishing beauty products from ingredients he found at a farmers’ market, spice shop and herbal store.

His business has expanded to more than 40 countries. In Japan, the brand has more than 65 retail outlets including a flagship store in Omotesando, Tokyo.
