Marche Movenpick moves into Malaysia
Penang-based Thong Guan Industries has launched its maiden Marche Movenpick restaurant franchise at Pavilion Mall in Bukit Bintang.
It is the Malaysian group’s first foray into the restaurant sector, complementing its F&B interests. Tea and coffee products contribute 39.5 and 6 per cent respectively to its F&B division revenue.
As well as the Swiss-style restaurant, other concept stores from Marche Movenpick may be opened, says Thong Guan Industries executive director Alvin Ang.
He says the brand focusses on freshness, quality and taste through its live cooking station. “Marche classics are the crunchy salad and crisp Swiss rösti.”
The restaurant also offers other European dishes including meat from the grill, seafood, focaccia sandwiches, sweet and savory crêpes and baked goods such as Belgian waffles.
Elsewhere in Asia, Singapore has three Marche Movenpick restaurants.
