Gap opens flagship store on Yahoo! Taiwan

US clothing retailer Gap Incorporated has launched its newest “digital brand flagship store” on Yahoo! Taiwan.

Its aim is to offer an omnichannel retail experience, says Gap executive May Ng.

“We believe the time is ripe for the launch of a joint digital storefront,” says VP Ng, who is GM for Greater China e-commerce and head of Hong Kong/Taiwan.

Gap was one of the first international fashion apparel brands on Yahoo!. Its digital storefront will offer the same range of range of clothing and accessories available in its physical stores, and online customers will be able to pick up their purchases from their nearest store or fulfillment location.

“In line with online shopping trends in in the market, Gap also gives customers the option to pick up orders in nearby convenience stores, so they can get their products anytime they want,” says Ng.

Gap entered Taiwan in 2014, and now has 11 stores there.
