TrueMoney Wallet app offers new services

E-payment provider Ascend Group has improved and added new features to its TrueMoney Wallet app in Thailand.

As well as bill payment, mobile top-up, money transfer and online/offline payments, users will now be able to send money to friends and family abroad, buy airline tickets, book hotel rooms, order and pay for food, borrow money and make investments in mutual funds. The app also includes credit-rating and advanced fraud-prevention features.

Through its partnership with Apple and Ant Financial Services Group, TrueMoney’s customers in Thailand will now able to pay for purchases in the App Store, Apple Music and iTunes directly from their TrueMoney account. The option will be configured automatically to immediately offer one-tap purchasing from an Apple device.

Unveiling the upgrade, Ascend Group CEO Punnamas Vichitkulwongsa says he believes TrueMoney Wallet can become a super app that crosses through all areas of life for users in Thailand and in the Asean region.

“What will end up happening is that this app will serve all the financial needs of our lives,” he says. “

Available on Google Play Store and iTunes, TrueMoney Wallet has partnerships with 7-Eleven, True Coffee and other retailers and food chains, with more to be added this year.

Apart from services in Thailand, TrueMoney is expanding regionally to cover Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines and Vietnam.
