Starbucks Cambodia opens first Siem Reap store

Starbucks Cambodia has launched its first Siem Reap store, in the international departure terminal of the city’s airport.

With five locations in Phnom Penh, it is the first Starbucks outside the capital, says Starbucks Cambodia GM Por Lim.

The 53 sqm outlet offers the brand’s “Third Place” experience with the classic beverage menu as well as food and merchandise.

To mark the opening, Starbucks Cambodia has joined forces with Planet Water Foundation, a non-government organisation that supports the use of community-based water-filtration systems and runs a water-health and hygiene education program for disadvantaged people in Siem Reap.

Since Starbucks Cambodia opened its first store at the end of 2015, its employee numbers have grown to more than 100, including both full- and part-time workers. Starbucks entered the market through its licensed partner Coffee Concepts (Cambodia), a subsidiary of Hong Kong Maxim’s Group. It has a two-storey flagship store in Phnom Penh and is set to open another cafe in the capital by end of next month.
