Centrestage fashion event ready to roll

With more than 100 partners, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will present the second edition of the Asian fashion event Centrestage from Wednesday.

For the three-day event, its partners include the Hong Kong Design Centre, Fashion Farm Foundation, Lan Kwai Fong, fashion design schools, beauty salons, hotels and shopping malls. Featuring Asian designers, Centrestage has more than 210 fashion brands participating this year including Anagram, Angus Tsui, Cheng Pai Cheng, Doriskath, DressedUndressed, Edward Achour, Harrison Wong, House of V, Keepsake, Maxrieny, Ink, Izzue, Kenaxleung and Loom Loop.

On the final day the event is free to the public and features a fashion parade, lifestyle tips, and make-up and nail-art demonstrations.

Already the event has been preceded by a month-long campaign featuring more than 90 public events including a street parade, fashion and manicure workshops, fashion photography, retail discounts and a flash-mob performance

Centrestage is also teaming up with Mira Place and The Mira Hong Kong to present afternoon tea at Coco, blending fashion with food. The promotion runs until September 26. HKTDC is also running the Street Snap Competition, inviting people to upload chic wear images through a special website or Instagram for a chance to win prizes worth more than HK$100,000 (US$12,800).

A series of fashion shows and exhibitions is also being held at D2 Place in Lai Chi Kok until the end of this month, plus during the course of Centrestage 23 restaurants in Lan Kwai Fong are offering discounts and privileges.
