Chinese shop rips off Yeezy Adidas Boost

Hard on the heels of the success of Kanye West’s Yeezy x Adidas footwear line, a shop has opened in Wenzhou selling knockoff versions of the Yeezy Adidas Boost shoes.

It features faux Yeezy Adidas Boost 350 V2s sneakers, both in original and unreleased colourways, with a customisable option, reports Billboard magazine. But there are significant differences from the original shoes: the text on the upper of the Chinese version appears as “Yeezy 550” instead of the original “SPLY-350” – plus the price point is about $70 less than the authentic footwear.

Yet despite all this, the shop owner, Mr Hu, says it registered the Yeezy trademark and “some time ago” it was ruled as valid by “the relevant authorities”.
