Yakiniku restaurant Kagura opens at Elements

Yakiniku restaurant Kagura has opened in Elements mall, Tsim Sha Tsui, featuring Mirai beef from the Hokkaido farm of owner Haruyoshi Kashiwaba.

It is the Japanese-style Korean barbecue restaurant’s first foray overseas.

Based on the original restaurant, the decor has a rustic theme with piles of wood featured outside while the interior has brick walls with wooden ceiling beams.

Diners are issued with disposable bibs to protect their clothes as the meat grills.

Menu items include a Hokkaido potato salad with warm mozzarella cheese, assorted kimchi, Mirai beef yakiniku platter for two showcasing different cuts, Kamikomi pork belly, yuzu sorbet and almond tofu.

Unlike most traditional grills where the smoke is removed by an overhead ventilator, at Kagura the smoke is pushed downwards into an exhaust system.
