Raising its regional profile, Zadig & Voltaire China has staged its first fashion show, coinciding with the French fashion label’s 20th anniversary.
Zadig & Voltaire has three stores in Hong Kong and one in Macau.
Celebrities and fashion icons attended its Fall/Winter 17 fashion show at Beijing’s Sanlitun Tongying Center. Actress Mabel Yuan attended wearing a special-edition t-shirt with the slogan “Girls can do anything” paired with a tassel-embellished leather skirt.
Other celebrities at the event included fashion pioneer BoBo Lun, BoyNam, Chen Ran, Huang Fu, Lizzie Li and Peter Xu.
Known for its cashmere knitwear, Zadig & Voltaire launched in 1997 with its rock’n’roll-edge apparel.
“Zadig” was taken from a fictitious revolutionary leader in a novel by French philosopher Voltaire. It was founded by Thierry Gillier, who created knitwear for Yves Saint Laurent, with his brother Arnaud Gillier in collaboration with other designers. Their company ATG (Arnaud & Thierry Gillier) became an international enterprise with a client base of more than 300 brands across the globe. Supermodel Cecilia Bonstrom joined the Zadig & Voltaire design team in 2003 and was later appointed artistic director.
The collection is available at the brand’s shops in Admiralty, Causeway Bay and Harbour City Tsim Sha Tsui in Hong Kong, and at the Parisian in Macau.
