British Essentials launches online groceries in Hong Kong

An online supermarket offering English grocery brands, British Essentials, has launched in Hong Kong.

It is the official online retailer of UK grocer Morrisons own-label groceries, offering Hong Kong customers a choice between branded British groceries and the Morrisons range. In the UK, Morrisons has 491 stores and an online outlet offering home-delivery service.

For British Essentials, products are imported directly from the UK and delivered to customers throughout Hong Kong. It offers hundreds of Morrisons and branded groceries including cereals, pulses, pasta, grains, chocolates, snacks, oils, spreads, canned food, dairy- and gluten-free and organic range, soft drinks, beauty and health products, baby milk and toiletries, pet food, cleaning and homecare items, baking and international food.

Customers can place orders at any time and choose suitable delivery dates. Delivery is free for orders worth $500 (US$64) or more.  A dedicated delivery team delivers orders from a temperature-controlled warehouse directly to customers via the company’s own fleet of delivery vans. British Essentials delivers to all of Hong Kong, Kowloon, New Territories, and select outlying islands including Discovery Bay, Tung Chung, South Lantau and Park Island.

British Essentials has a zero-waste policy, with orders delivered in reusable crates and cardboard boxes that can be returned to the delivery team.

Soon the range will be expanded to include fresh and frozen groceries.
