International brands open up for HKRI Taikoo Hui launch

HKRI Taikoo Hui, Shanghai’s fashion and lifestyle destination which opened in May, has finally been officially launched.

Jointly developed by HKRI and Swire Properties, two Hong Kong-listed companies, HKRI Taikoo Hui is the last major development in the Nanjing West Road District. A large-scale, mixed-use development, HKRI Taikoo Hui comprises a shopping mall, two Grade-A office towers, two luxury hotels and a serviced apartment building.

An opening celebration themed “Dare for More” featured live performances, a light installation and local politicians and officials, joined by Victor Cha Mou Zing, deputy chairman and MD of HKR International, John Slosar, chairman of Swire Properties, Guy Bradley, CEO of Swire Properties and Jackie Tang, HKRI executive director and CEO of HKRI Taikoo Hui.

Featuring more than 250 brands, HKRI Taikoo Hui offers a range of lifestyle and dining options and provides over 10 dedicated spaces for exclusive events and activities, contributing to an immersive shopping and entertainment experience for customers.

Retail tenants range from fashion, beauty and accessories to lifestyle and dining, many of them making their debut in Shanghai – and even in Mainland China. More than 90 per cent of the retail space has been leased out, while more than 80 per cent of shops are now trading.

Since Mays soft opening, the largest City’super store (4000sqm) in Mainland China has opened its doors, along with SpaceCycle, a yoga and spinning class studio, and the flagship store of electronic auto brand NIO. Next month, a Starbucks Reserve Roastery (2700sqm), will open, along with the second Disney store in Mainland China.

Another highlight of the development is the beauty corridor which houses more than 20 beauty brands, including Cha Ling under LVMH Group, Atelier Cologne and Natura Bisse, all making their debut in Mainland China.

A diverse range of dining features 45 eateries offering more than 13 types of international cuisine.

These include Shanghai Club, the premium brand under Jardin de Jade, Paris Blanc, a grill house managed by Paris Group, and Hong Kong Michelin-starred congee and noodle specialist Ho Hung Kee, all in regional debuts.
