Three more Paris Baguette stores for Changi airport

SPC Group has added three more Paris Baguette bakeries to its original store at Singapore’s Changi Airport, which opened in February 2014.

Specialising in sandwiches, snacks and beverages, the new stores are at the airside and landside areas of the new Terminal 4, which can handle 1.6 million passengers a year.

Other global F&B brands at the airport include McDonald’s, Starbucks, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and TWG Tea Boutique.

An SPC official says it was possible to open three stores at once because the brand is known to travellers, and the strong presence will promote the brand.

SPC will continue to expand the bakery overseas so as to create jobs in other countries for young Koreans, says the official.

Since opening its first bakery in Singapore in 2012, seven more stores have followed. Its affiliate in Singapore posted KW14.4 billion (US$12.8 million) in sales last year, up 12 per cent from the previous year.

SPC Group says it plans to open 12,000 Paris Baguette stores around the world by 2030, including 2000 stores in China and the US.
