Sham Shui Po shop ordered to close

A fresh provisions store has been given a 14-day trade suspension for illegally extending its business area.

The suspension of trading by the Sham Shui Po shop was ordered by the director of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) for repeated breaches of the Food Business Regulation (FBR).

Located on the ground floor at 8 Fat Tseung Street, the shop has been ordered to suspend trading until November 25.

Two convictions for the breach were recorded against the Sham Shui Po shop in January and August, says an FEHD spokesman. A $2200 fine was levied by the court and 30 demerit points registered against the licensee.

The FEHD says the licensee of the shop had two previous convictions for the same offence in November and December last year. They were fined $2200 and had 30 demerit points registered.

The breaches led to a business suspension for seven days between February and March this year.

The spokesman says licensees of food premises failing to comply with the FBR could have their licences suspended or cancelled.
