Beijing Capital Grand, a commercial property development arm of Beijing Capital Land, has launched its fifth outlet project, Hangzhou Capital Outlets.
Its grand opening day attracted more than 90,000 visitors who spent more than RMB12.93 million (US$1.9 million).
In the Fuyang district, Hangzhou Capital Outlets has a GFA of 110,000sqm and more than 2000 parking spaces. It is the fifth outlet complex launched by Capital Grand, following projects in Beijing, Huzhou, Kunshan and Wanning.
Set by a river, the centre features classical Italian-style architecture with a glass dome over the central plaza. With its themed shopping environment, it is expected to become a tourist attraction between Hangzhou city and nearby Qiandao Lake.
Over three storeys, the building has four sections: independent boutiques for global brands, sports spaces, a playground and gourmet food area. As well as the Chic Outlet Shopping Multi Brands Boutique, the centre opened with such brands as Adidas, Basic House, New Balance, Lacoste, Nike, Rockport and Skechers, soon to be joined by Coach, G Givenchy, Michael Kors and Red Valentino.
Hong Kong-listed Capital Grand owns and manages 14 outlets projects, with two more to follow soon, in Nanchang and Wuhan.
